MS. LYNNE NEVEU

How long have you lived in the Niagara Falls area?
My whole life, except when I went away to UAlbany for college.

Where do you work? Or, how do you occupy your time?
I work as the Outreach and Education Specialist for Niagara County for Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York. I occupy my non-work time exploring Niagara Falls and spending time with my husband.

What do you like about living in Western New York?
I feel lucky to live in a place and have daily access to an asset that some people dream of visiting their whole lives.

What three words do you think best describe the Niagara Falls Public Library? Inclusive, charming and growing.

When friends or family find out that you are on the library board, what do they say or ask?
Whenever I mention I'm on the library board people give me tips and ideas for how to continue to grow. It is much appreciated!

What do you wish other people knew about the library?
The library is an equalizer in the community. We serve people from every income level, from any race, of different abilities, from youth to seniors, etc. With all the inequality in the world, libraries are accessible to everyone.

How is the library different today than it was ten years ago?
My favorite thing about the library is that it is so much different with new technology and different programs but its also so similar. It has the same smell I remember from visiting as a child, the same plants (just much bigger!), the same amazing architecture, etc. There's a real sense of nostalgia when I enter the downtown library.

If you could have dinner with a famous author or book character who would it be? Professor McGonagall from Harry Potter
